Classical & Digital Book

For this project at the University of Missouri at St. Louis, we were tasked with creating a new illustrated version of Freedom is a Constant Struggle by Angela Davis. To help this book be easily understood by the reader, I focused on a single theme from the book where Davis talks about why global movements need to support each other for advancement. The highlighted quotes reflect the separation these global movements have, while the fluid background represents Davis’ hope that these movements will unite to help eachother. Using shortened sections, word definitions, and quotes from other activists and important figures, I created Continental Kinship.

Digital Book

The second part of this project was to create a digital book experience. Using ReadyMag, I created an interactive reading experience to engage the audience for desktop. For mobile, I used Adobe XD to prototype.
